I became interested in Unitarian Universalism after reading and identifying strongly with the work of the transcendentalists. This is the principle that has the most meaning for me personally. It's also quite compatible with Buddhism, Taoism and environmentalism whereby the goal is to live in harmony and realize that our actions have consequences. What we do has an impact on others and on the environment. I believe that if we really lived this principle we'd do a lot less damage.
